Alright, so what you want first - the good news or the bad news? OK, I'll start with the good news. In less than 2 weeks this site will be changing over to an actual blog format and not just R9V related news and updates. And we're going to do it in style! Which leads us to the bad news...yep, you guess it - there isn't going to be any of the promised articles this week - but rather, they will be held back until the launch of the new site.

Starting tomarrow, I will be starting a series of 3 part posts regarding some topics of interest such as Marketing, Development, and Domaining. It will all be from experience and written off the top. The first 3 part series will be justifiably called; "Domaining Exposed: The Good, The Bad and The Holy Crap, They Actually Do That?" Yes, it is sure to be gripping! About two months ago, we decided to have some fun and see if we can register a not-so-great domain name, put up a site and get at least 10,000 unique hits within 24 hours of uploading the site by just posting 1 link on a chosen web design related forum. Well, the site we made not only got the 10,000 hits, it did about 22,000 in the first 24hrs and for about two weeks was being spread
like wild-fire. We then took the ridiculous site we originally made and flipped it in to a more useful webmaster portal. Click below to see both site versions.

In honor of Random9 Ventures' 9th corporate anniversary; I'd like to share with you the short poem I wrote in my early teens (about the violence I was seeing in my city) that inspired the name "Random9" a year later when I legally incorporated the business name in Ontario, Canada. I remember I looked so young that the accountant I went to see to incorporate, almost wasn't taking my request
seriously, but money talks and the incorporation was made official 9 year ago today.

If you're the type that's never gotten around to using any search engines other than the standard ones, we have two which may interest you. QuickInfoNet.com uses Google search results like many other sites, however our model allows
users to add their site to the QuickInfoNet.com index in order to increase their sites back links and search engine rank.
Nomez.com is truly unique. Nomez.com was designed for busy research professionals who have to do multiple searches and would like to save time. Nomez.com allows users to search Google, Yahoo, MSN and ASK with the same search query, then toggle between engines by using the toolbar in the wizard mode. In the classic mode, users are able to compare results from the 4 search engines side by side, based on the users search options.

I am very pleased to announce that we have negotiated a couple of deals this week to transfer the ownership of the domain name "KingsDream.com" to the Martin Luther King Foundation and the domain "FrankGifford.com" to NFL Broadcast Legend, Frank Gifford. We are sure these will be great web sites in the future for their respective owners and Internet users world-wide.

I know it makes little sense - being that I'm a stubborn IE user, however, I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase a cute little FireFox information site. I'm pretty sure the only thing that sparked my interest was the domain name, InstallFox.com
- and maybe the logo. Eitherway, I thought it would be a good little addition to the R9V network for the time being - until we can find a better use for the domain.
